Life on Auto by Christel Crewsalarm beeping
covers tossing
shivering and measuring out the caffeine
clean clothes on, dirty ones in the bin
laundry will wait another day
dirty dishes stacked creating castles and moats on the counter
find my keys
turn on the engine
red light, stop
green light, go
park the mode of transportation
deep breath, smile on
walk into the chaos.
10 hours feels like 2
scarf wrapped, hat plopped
running to my polluting transit
shovel food
meetings, rehearsals, arguments, practice
talking in circles doesn't get you anywhere
home
hot shower
hit the pillow
pull the covers to hide the clock
one last text to say goodnight
and
repeat
