between twixt and tween

by Charlie Morgan

if you only knew how real(to the touch)
the Moon felt while passing over my head,
thru puffed billows of two cumulus clouds.

i tried to hold the picture for you but
all i had were my eyes, and memory.

while words(forever lacking)in this instance,
so bland, so not-less. i folded the vision.
put it in a crease of photographs, not taken,
but remembered by me, though you saw it too.

perhaps we will talk of it one day. and once
again we will bring the picture-book, of photos-
not taken. sit on our patio and in a moment
of remember-whens...i'll say 'member when the Moon
passed thru those two clouds, when the boy was
on the ocean and it was so still? 'member that?

a shared feeling will arrive twixt and tween us.
