i write to remember
the small things,

the way your skin felt
against mine,
your smile when i walked
in the room,
your hands so perfectly
within my own,
always angry when you
first wake up,
sleeping with our legs
wrapped together

every night.

i know i will eventually
forget,

the way you smell,
the taste of your lips,
the sound of your footsteps,

so i will write to remember
you always.
