feeling like floating

by Angela Thomas

when i walked into the room, you were the only
one i saw standing at that table alone, so we struck
up a funny conversation. and then your arm kept
on brushing against mine during the ceremony

between giggles. the sheer truth spilling out
of my mouth, eyes dancing on your lips, hands
resting on your back for a fleeting second, seemed
unable to contain itself. we danced. me poorly,

you clearly trained, and there was a moment
when i wanted so bad to just kiss you soft.
we lay on the beach and talked and talked
about everything, the night stretching on

like waves rolling to shore. with purpose
and effortless all at once. it was magic.

Mmm. Delicious! An un-rhymed sonnet and all the better for that with the overtones it adds - I Love it! If you'd like to join the sonnet circle here, let me know!
