by Kerowyn Rose

It hurts,
more than you know;
more than you will ever
Except that,
she expects you know
that no one’s eyes soften
the way yours do when they
meet hers;
that there is a
love language you will
never share with her.
Glimpses of what could be,
but will not be --
like whip lashes
to the back of her hope.
