Microexpressions Of Another by Jared OrlandoIt is in the incompleteness of the quiet
Of a distant solitary branch falling
Ever so lightly on a single bed of snow
As everything pitters or patters
A creak under the feet of another
Is shrouded in the ambience of
Cicadas while tiny bouts of
Wind circle in place
I watch the shadows of the flames
Flicker and animate
And while you are burning I reach
Stumbling as my breath retreats
It is in the still when you return
As the microexpression of another
And in your retreat you leave
The air smoldering and cold 11/01/2012 Posted on 11/02/2012 Copyright © 2024 Jared Orlando
