White Noise

by Lydian Beck

I was just your white noise
Something to fill the silence
I can still hear the crack in your voice
‘Goodbye’ and kissed both my eyelids
I never believed in ghosts
Until I felt you in our empty room
So I moved back to the coast
Settling into perpetual gloom

A woman as lovely as you should not feel gloom but I know what is on the outside does not always reflect the inside. Nice write.
