He didn't want to

He was a federal agent
who entered that ancient basement.

He was famous for his patience,
especially with one lustful patient.

She lurks softly by the midnight pavement
and awaits payment.

He sold her to satan.
That's a confusing blanket statement.

He went to re-define the terms of their arrangement
when he met a complainant who stated the two had entered into engagement.

He'd have to pull her from the streets now and find a new form of entertainment.

I have to admit, when you said you wrote 10 poems in a day I figured there might be one good one, followed by 9 rushed, mediocre poems. Not because of you individually as a poet, but because that tends to be writing for most people in general. Now I'm not saying this is a masterpiece, but I would say you have both surprised and impressed me with the quality you've contained within the quantity.
