we ignored the howling between

by Bertram Sparagmos

Before you
I am but a guttural, churning mass;
Raw and primal.
Snarling my love for you through clenched teeth.
We need not slay the monsters we have bred between us.
The fear is only
That they will run wild and free as beasts do.

Let them run.

Our hands are firm enough to make them obey
And return them to their kennels.
Our hearts are strong; Thick with scars
Carried in rattling cages over verdant fields and empty deserts
We have written the book of Us
On pages no man or creature can tear.

Let our beasts run.

As they say "consenting adults"..... I suspect I would under certain circumstances scare people that do not know me. I am gently but gladly slam my hands down on piano keys letting loose a noise louder than one ever heard with pain not heard by human ears. Nice write.
