Rest Sweetly in the Rainbows

by Marjorie Anne Reagan

Solitary
sweet
kind
giving me
the gift of music
we went
down to the river
spoke of you
to you
sweet dear
girl
her arm around me
as I spoke directly to
you enjoy swimming
in the rainbows
enjoy your wings
i will keep the music
you taught me
alive
alove
my dear uncle
tumultous life you lived
you over came it all
gentle
bringing me peace
in the noise and confusion
and just then
she says mama
look
the biggest
rainbow either of us had ever seen
a slight second one above
it covered the sky
so I could not even photograph it all

Gods child
rest sweetly
your time here was so rough
now you are truly perfect

like the rainbow you asked God
to let us see.

Thank you for loving me
for me
thank you for every song
teaching me to cry

little tough girl i had to be
on my knees i prayed for you
drifting off to sleep
going to
the place of rainbows and our Lord.

Author's Note: In Memory of Uncle Bobby the juke box i used to throw my baby bottles at to make play his guitar. You taught me to play and it was ok for me to be me. Gave me Abby Road, let me and encouraged me to cry. Showed me how to have good clean fun. Everysong I enjoy is partly due to you. You taught me how to play guitar, about Muddy and so many more. Thank you for the rainbows there on the river at Jessicas and my house. We know you are ok the way you chose to go was beautiful. Drifting sweetly off to sleep in your west virginia mountains...........enjoy eternity. Where you belong, with our Lord amongst the rainbows. RIP
