Credo by Mo CoutsIn a higher power,
Lacking gender,
Having love and power.
A being that understands the deepest, darkest recesses of myself,
And loves me—not in spite of my natural variance from others,
But because of it.
Who respects my choices,
And always welcomes me back,
No matter how far or how long I have strayed.
Who knows my mind,
Cherishes my heart,
Lifts up my soul,
Hears my voice,
Forgives my sins,
Embraces my gifts,
Answers my prayers,
Guides my life.
I believe.

Posted by Alison McKenzie on 09/09/12 at 11:07 AM I adore the juxtaposition of belief placed at the end of this work instead of the beginning. This piece has its very own sense of direction, and I liked being where it took me. Strong and steady - like you. |
