Travails

by Joe Cramer

I wrote you a sonnet,
do you remember what was on it?
The travails of a tale
that had once happened,
at one time had prevailed.

I penned a word or two,
fleeting thhoughts, far too few
of what's left, or what soon will be.
If only mine eyes could but see.

I wrote down a word
that is still lost,
still left unheard.
This becomes the cost.

Author's Note: ... old angst... I can't remember the who, what, when or where.....
