I no longer write for you. by Angie JenkinsI no longer write for you.
I have stared at the screen
Repeatedly refreshing the page
Panting eagerly at the thought of you caring, listening
Accepting, cheering
Blaring my words from rooftops as though they were
Fireworks shooting into the stars.
I have awoken, dined, and slept by the glow of this piece of machinery
Aching for validation with only keys and an electronic mouse
To hold my hand.
So now I swallow my pride and create for myself and
Go outside because
I no longer write for you.

Posted by George Hoerner on 08/18/12 at 11:05 PM Oh how I can relate to this. When you think you have found someone who you couldn't for years and there is little if any response it can make you question the significance you have or had with this person except to say "Oh yes, I knew him when." Nice write lady. |
