I masturbate
to rid my body
of the stale possibilities
that reside within.

The pleasure is physical
and illusory only
as the ending
retreats me back
to undeniable loneliness.

I see myself attracted
by simplicity of sight
regarding the fact
I probably hate their mental.

Over before it even starts,
I envision everything possible
so letting me down now
trumps future sadness.

My mind is faulty like that.
I'm bored by life
and the seemingly
bottomless pit of letdowns.

You can give your all
but there is no guarantee
all will be given back, and
therein lies the agony.

I didn't do it for the reward
but it would have been nice
to understand the spoils
and that enlightenment, too.
