the wished-for child by Vikki Owensi have been imprisoned, my love,
and have fallen asleep.
the quiet dust falls on silenced lips
in the still shadows of this keep.
come my prince, to marry me,
and fill me with pregnancy.
what grows here,
after the thorns and roses,
is a bloom unlike the others
in this room inside me,
to wake the spell that hides me.
my eyes are not open, yet,
i sleep to be woken, yet,
i do not know when my prince will set
foot inside my somnolence
and reverse the curse that i have left
for him. 08/02/2012 Author's Note: the original story of sleeping beauty has the princess sleeping as the prince wakes her by first impregnating her..the child sucks at her finger and draws the curse out.
