Dark skies twinkle toes

by Keith D Allison

Well last Wednesday morning I traveled down to the big city of Pueble Colorado, to take a few pictures of some upholstery fabrics. By about one o'clock in the afternoon the building was getting quite warm, we decided to call it a day. In the process of loading the truck, old twinkle toes stepped out of a doorway which had a 2 foot drop off onto the loading dock. It was like poetry in motion three quick steps trying to catch my balance diving headlong over the trashcan straight into the asphalt pool covered with lots of little rocks and glass. The sudden stop in the pool was mind boggling; blood and pain instantly raise their heads, the side of my face felt like you slid into second base. My cell phone had made itself well known as it fractured my rib also bruising my lung, it coming out without a scratch just to show its brute strength. Droplets of blood fell from my forehead to my knee. The wrist and hand fatally, well bruised, fractured you might say, ouch. The voice above me screamed out are you dead or maybe it was, are you okay I would've preferred the first. As I rose to my feet all the fire alarms were going off; screaming in pain of hurt, desperately trying to shake it off. A quick evaluation told me, I might be going to live but it wasn't going to be fun. Well to make a long story short it was a few more hours for that picture some have seen taken in the hospital bed came about.
But we have a new sign hanging about the neck. ( Warning, asphalt pool diving is dangerous to your health )

Painful, but this is a good one for your "memoirs". Thanks.
