July 6 - Arroyo by Jason WardellWhat do you call
a love that does not
endure or persevere?
That crawls for the first
exit on a desert road because
man it looks dry out there?
I interject: creekbeds.
Who is to say there will
never be water here again?
I mistakenly figured
it just takes patience
to carve affection from stone.
But waiting out history
does not mean I am suited
to surviving a desert.
Intermittent
is the word
I was looking for. 07/06/2012 Author's Note: Big stretch. Big yawn.
POTD 8/7/2012--my birthday. Aw, shucks!

Posted by George Hoerner on 07/06/12 at 05:32 PM Like waiting for the 'intermittent spring' in Afton, Wy, sometimes you can stand there for weeks and never see the water flush. Then when you think it is time to leave there it goes. I really like this write Jason. |

Posted by Sarah Wolf on 07/24/12 at 08:49 PM I think there is a little bit of genius here really. I do. |
