I'm Knee-Deep In Your Hate

by Jersey D Gibson

The results are always clear to see,
and the reasons are easy to understand.
But why we clash is beyond explanation,
all I was told was to go and hate you.

Through the red haze I see your eyes
through the rage do you see mine?
Do you pray when you attack,
do I care when I hit back?

The price is paid, the damaged done,
can we see what we've become?
All the ruin you heap on me,
all the pain I heap on you.

And how many of us could really under'stan'd? Oh I've seen pictures sure but 10,000 pictures would never let me feel the bullet that just went past or the one that hit a comrad. We sit and drink our coffee or our beer and never fear unless we have a loved on there and wait for a knock on our door. Keep asking the questions and making the point. Maybe one day we'll wake up and put an end to war.
