you respond by Peter Hsuyou crane upwards
where there is no sky
and eye the color of wool
as it drips steadily down,
staining the earth
an indescribable shade of twilight,
bleeding the world into
diluted ink.
a deep exhale turns the world sideways
and you spin in place like a trick coin.
your lips inspect the corner of my eye;
from your mouth, a red word is being born.
o startling color in this world of grey. 01/17/2005 Author's Note: i found this hidden away from so many years ago.
not bad for a kid.
