UV

by Jon-Jacob F Deal

I'd never seen freckled skin fluoresced
Until you flipped the black-light switch
And I looked on in wonder
As your familiar face transformed--
Dappled ethereal amethyst
Surrounding radiant blue-white smile.

If only love shined the same;
Then the reason you don't want me in your bed
Would be because I was blinding
And not because I had been blind.

Nice even tone here (IMHO). The black-light effect is fascinating, I don't know that I've ever found its use in a poem. Delighted. Thanks. High marks all the way around.
