Victory Does Not Make Us Heroes
by Jersey D GibsonYou went and fought for the wrong reasons
now praying on knees in the aftermath.
The fires still haven't dimmed all these years
passions at play, along with bullets and guns.
You went on the charge without checking your back
now left with victory fields littered with the dead.
Did your victory tour revelle get washed out
by the sound of the chushing bones under your feet?
You hanged a king never put on trial
the final stroke was just the beginning of a new chapter.
Peace does not stand alone, because wars have sequals
and if you're lucky, you won't be apart of the second cast.
