Omnescience [a change in hue] by Laura DoomInspiration is a challenge
thrown down by one who holds
your breath, hoping you will turn
blue in the heat of exposure.
You failed to anticipate
antipathy's chilling sear,
being open to all elements
but that of surprise.
What you don't know won't hurt you;
what you don't understand
will eat you alive, inside out
from here to prehistory.
How easy it would be
to slip into something
more comfortable
than consciousness.
Demoralization will turn blue
into an art form that rouses
this town's sole inhabitant
to paint herself indecorous red. 06/03/2012 Posted on 06/03/2012 Copyright © 2024 Laura Doom

Posted by Max Bouillet on 12/21/12 at 12:34 AM Such a colorful piece: blue on both ends with a splash of red. Yes, we hold our breath in sensual inspiration and pray the extra 'umph' will slip us beyond mere consciousness but too often we are over before we begin and we wake up still holding our breath. Missed ya. |
