Closer to the truth!

by Lori Blair

Remain here,

I love you more each passing year

the sun will set but not for you and I

untold, though, still so

Without hope,

I forget to place you here

when you are much nearer still to me now

than I could e'er know

And all that's wrong,

you see only the good in dawn

and how we belonged together, not apart,

two hearts drifting so

closer to a truth we both knew

once upon a time when truelove was all that mattered

then

but what can we do now?

when we share a love that lasts beyond our years?

how can we or anyone else comprehend?

When these truths are just so hard yet to defend?

You're my life,

you hold me where I wish to be

complete, without seeking sun, even, finding rain

but how I love you so!

But I say,

I can not leave you now or then

there is no light without that dawn of you again

there's no wrong, but, right!

And just know,

forever alone is not so close

if all I need is here, why so far away you feel?

just make this real with me

closer to a truth we both knew

once upon a time when truelove was all that mattered

then

but what can we do now?

when we share a love that lasts beyond our years?

how can we or anyone else comprehend?

When these truths are just so hard yet to defend?

when all I needed is you forever by my side

Just give me time and I will be there too!

I didn't so much 'read' this as listen to it, as it sang to me. Very well done.
