May 17

by Meghan Helmich

Let them tumble from your hands,
your fantasies of being young
and nubile, dreaming of a God
that could restore your passion
if only you believed as your mother did.

But no one has felt that way in years.
There is not enough faith in all the oceans
to fill the spaces in you.
