Bubblegum Sky

by Keith D Allison

The grass is green
the flowers are growing
as spring reaches out
to touch the soul

It's a bubblegum morning
the cinnamon float's
casting its beauty
upon the air

Chocolate kisses
Insane
are everywhere
filling filling

Once did I dare
those eyes
consuming

Now a tear passes
from my own

No more
to kiss your lips
no more

For you are playing
with the Angels today
far past
the end of
our sea

The images in this feel as though they've been lived a few thousand times in the mind, but have not lost even a shred of their sharpness.

Nice Keith...but it begs for a quote, because I cannot summon better. This one from Elizabeth Barrett Browning...and seems so fitting. She wrote, " I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose I shall but love thee better after death." Delighted. Thanks.
