jamaican vanilla essential oil by Angela Thomasthe sun has decided to leave it's winter
sleeping place and come out to grace
the summer sky, along with memories
of you. the love we shared for a fleeting
moment in time. a pause. the candle
flickering beside us as we did nothing
but stare into each other's eyes, hands
on faces. it was like the outside world
ceased to exist, frozen in time until
a phone ringing would shatter the silence,
the hum of the ac coming into focus,
a tan-line on a peculiar finger appearing
suddenly. it comes back to me at times
-- a shadowy memory of what once was. 05/15/2012 Posted on 05/16/2012 Copyright © 2024 Angela Thomas
