Aprilia (Spring Awakening)

by Scott Utley

Good Morning, Viet Nam! If, what Hillary Clinton just said may be possible with the dissident

trying to be free in China, then the entire universe will have a remarkable excuse to

celebrate! In every galaxy on every planet in the infinite, beings will dance all night and

sing all day because it is proof that there is nothing more powerful than truth, and no-

matter the unbearable weight of suffering that is happening this very moment - for instance -

in places like our magical Egypt, or Syria or AmeriKa, for that matter, in the end we shall

be free – it is written. So, it must be so. So, did anybody see the news reel this morning

where the young female elephant at the national zoo in Wash DC plays the harmonica and knows

she is a star? The keepers claim she gives each song a beginning, middle, and an end, and she

always holds the note at the end in a big flourish. Well, they then proceeded to show her

actually doing it and I am blown away, it goes … it just goes … it just goes to show ya’, we

are not alone. In conclusion, if the scorching heat of love’s desire should sear my spirit’s

flesh, I shall dress it in a balm, made from the nectar of your soul. Yes! It is a good

morning in Viet Nam.

Good morning Aprilia, I think left up to my own devices I will edit and edit for eternity, in

fact, I think that is what eternity means. Don't know for sure, but I believe I have really

finished your poem, and this is the very final version:) It is a bit changed from what it

started as. Do you think so too? I need your opinion and advice on what to do next - so here

it is ...

What a fascinating, strange, humorous and sometimes terrifying monologue. Good stuff, man.
