The (War)Path Home

by Jersey D Gibson

My time has come;the end of times
brought back to you;what I brought back
I've fought all this way;I lost again on this day
walked in blood, my footprints tell;my footprints say I walked in blood
but I lost again;but again I lost

Laid my guns down for the final time;laid my head down for the final time
drowning in tears;drowning in fears
if this is a dream, wake me up;wake me up this is but a dream
I fear my fear I see;I see my fear I fear
this is the final shot;the final shot is this

Broken beyond repair, can you see me?;can you see I'm broken beyond repair?
walked too long down this bloody road;down this bloody path walked too long
but I swear that I miss you;but I miss you that I swear
it will all come down;down it will all come
taken the warpath home;I took the warpath home

I like it...reading your words brought your sorrow to my own....this poem stirs the deeper emotions of our existance. Well done.

well done, particularly like how the poem keeps ringing in my mind even after I've read the last word.
