Crepuscule

by Anastasia Lyn

Twilight comes fast upon the coast.
I shiver from the breath of night,
my pulse coerced to match the beat
the crashing waves create. I stop
and stare up at the fireworks
erupting in a wild display
over the ancient bridge on which
I stand. The sea glows bright, the lights
give color to the darkened pool
beneath; the sun sinks out of sight.
