Missed Days 30/30 2012
by E. A. Pugh
1. Morning
lemon hangs fruit hangs an early dusk of spring
citrus thorns melt and sharpen in danked clouds
evening is yet to come.
my hand in yours, our hand
handhold feeling hand with a full team of ants
electric we blend hand to hand working ants
I love you
Into the orchard we drift
Smiles
Lemons
fruit
Citrus
Inhale deeply
Stretch out
Walk in Lemon Land
2. Noon
An Afternoon trip to the kiwi trellis
beneath the kiwi trellis
we lay upon the lawn
gaze
above the trellis
to the sky
above
cloud
blue sky
warm orchard
trellised thick heat
dangle nigh
orange sun
soft hairy kiwi fruit
fresh
ready
3. Dusk
Our Love is lost
Lemon tree struck by lightening
burns from inside out
killing the fruit
we are left alone in the orchard
with out you standing there
yet
our branches hang deep with fruited spring
we lemon trees rustle bill shaped leaf
football yellow fruit ripe
yet we are alone
Lemon tree.. you got struck by lightening
an burns from inside out
killing your fruit
we miss you
why you
suddenly
miss your fruit
we stand in a line
in the orchard
in row
we place our heavy sharp spring
leaf feather
in you cap
we miss you
still,
lemon tree
suddenly gone
struck by lighting
suddenly gone.
