Words Are Wind by Aaron BlairYes, I know that words are wind,
but you need to remember where I'm from.
I've got tornadoes in my blood,
and the walls that surround you are thin.
Even the cellar won't save you.
There's no logic in burying yourself
in the ground to keep the sky out.
The taste in your mouth is the dirt
from your grave and the ashes of your faith.
Have you ever stood against the gale,
let it take your skin but leave you standing?
You don't understand the nature of weakness.
You have no idea what it takes to make a person hard. 04/15/2012 Author's Note: "Words are wind" is an oft-repeated phrase from George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. It's supposed to mean that words can be meaningless and that you can't depend on what people say, because people often say things they don't mean. I don't necessarily agree. I think words are weapons. Wind is powerful. I live in Tornado Alley. I don't make light of the wind.
