Hair dancing in the wind

by Keith D Allison

Sad song I sing
memories do I bring
no casket to find
just the heat of the fire
just ashes in the jar
that's
what I will be

like Paris
in the spring
such a lovely dream
red wine in the glass
her eyes were truly green
oh
so long ago

those flowers
in the spring
life had just begun
the heart full of pain
searching for home
her hair dance in the wind
the warmth of her lips

Stir the heart
stir the mind
I'd love to write
to touch the mountain for its gold
no talent do I find
just the emptiness

my
love could not hold
just a passing
fancy
breath in the night
the tears
secretly
they unfold

Life
like children
born
swallowed by the sea
running aground
the endless deserts sand
no flowers
no flowers

Oh to hold
to know the fragrance of her hair
once more
to look upon
the sparkle of her dance
so sad so sad
it's but a dream
just ashes
in the jar
