Time

by Steve Michaels

It never mattered
how much you splashed
and splattered
I was typically
plastered.

Time does not heal wounds, it
exposes
widens and spits
salty water

I hurt
I ache

Time don't stare
at me
don't give me that
last
second

I need no last
breath
