i am better than you by Ava Bluemotions become solid trees, they are
not quite ready to be broken
but they are building something with every
breath
we take the queues from them,
don't we?
we mimic a phrase we've seen on some billboard
and never really understand why copyright issues
should exist
but sometimes when walking through the woods,
we hear echoes upon branches that have already died
and we wonder why no one bothered to give them
a proper burial
we were like this at some point, i think,
but neither of us could acknowledge
the bitterness in every taste
and you came at me with your hands
just when i was ready to dance,
but i am still blamed for things
you did to yourself
but it changed for me,
it really hasn't for you,
and i am swept off my feet in love
while you still limp
from all the regrets
you will never admit
so go,
go tell the stories you continue to steal
from every BBC show that ever existed
and tell them i never made you cry. 03/12/2012 Author's Note:
your typical "ava" poem
wrapped up in
truth that shows i
am happy even if
it doesn't seem like
it
