i have tried untangle this

by Vikki Owens

each fraying end
of each reason you had for leaving
wraps around itself,
till it strangles me.
i have tried to sympathize,
mourn for you, your faulty choices
that left me suspended in limbo
for the length of our life together,
a casualty of you,
until you
gathered up all your self and decided what you wanted,
you took these threads and made a noose
for me.

the needles prick me
as you cut me off,
created your new life,
and left mine behind
unraveled and unable
to make sense of all the pieces of this.

how dare you.

That last line sounds like it wants to open the floodgates to even more, but I like that you ended it there. This is a vicious burst of creativity and passion, and I love it.
