Weeping Willow

by Becca Morton

The Weeping Willow holds her tears
Till winter comes with rusty sheers
To take her leaves and go
For with those tears, go the dreams that she has never known

And just as she has started to let go
The suns beaming rays melt away the snow
And the spring brings in a magic rain
That somehow washes away all the pain

Building her back up again to stand straight and tall
A summer spent In the breeze, she thinks she has it all
Music, laughter, dance, and love
That winter's chill hardly thought of...

Until the weather breaks and cools
The teachers call the children back to school
And she feels it coming fast
A perpetual nightmare from her past...

The weeping willow holds her tears
Till winter comes with rusty sheers
To take her leaves and go
Waiting to find her dreams at last, when the sun can melt the snow

I suppose very few of us really find our dreams in reality. I've come as close as I expect to and I feel very fortunate. Good write lady.

This is perfect, the cyclical (sp?) nature of it, and the willow tree, really. I find myself dealing with this all the time..
