the teeth flew
right out of my mouth
it hurt,

I smart

especially when
it's only half of the job

the other half
to fill them in

then it starts
over again

why can't my teeth remain
attached to my gums,
vaguely connected to my brain

must I always endure
such pain?

I remain
toothless
