time iridescent

by Mary Frances Spencer

leaves a sparkling trail
a snail winding
precarious

fragile shell
liquid antennae
seeking light

slow
insurmountable
pebbles grass
bends in the way

life crawls
over
slips into a few cracks
chips the edges
glides softly into
under
infinite waters

exhales a few
temporary floating
bubbles

Author's Note: My Dad is very ill in the hospital right now...seems like time kind of slows down at the same time as it goes too fast... MFS

I'm so sorry, MFS. You and your dad will be in my prayers.

Time does seem to hamg heavy in a time like this doesn't it. And you have captured it very well. Wishing you and your dad the best outcome.
