All of the Ocean and Everything Else

by Megan Guimbellot

If only I could walk into the ocean and settle softly on the sandy bottom// I would let it all swirl around me
I would open my arms to the waves until they rolled upon me// And the salt would sink into my Southern skin until it dried me up. I would be just a skeleton, bone white in the waves.

It's the only thing I've ever wanted,
For the outside to match the in.
