My Valentine (2012)

by Alison McKenzie

I am sleepy
And full of

My aura shimmers,
Ready to burst
With the married scents
Of you and I
In the same space.

I am exceptionally grateful -
Honey’d eyelids
Thirsty for each moment,
Project gleeful intentions for
Our future moments,
Every one of them.

Such a world
For me
I never even imagined.

Such enchantment
From you
I could never have

A cherished Valentine’s Day,
The arrows displayed
Above a fiery hearth
In a home
Made for two.

Author's Note: For Troy - for the first time in years, I'm a happy girl. For your contribution to this joyful phenomenon I will always and forever be thankful. I truly feel blessed that Fate has given us one another. May we look forward to many, many more.

Oh Ali! We are two sisters! I adore this, and only realized you had written it AFTER you had commented on my Valentine. *happy sigh for both of us*
