present tense, future perfect
by Vikki Owensi have spent
so much time
grinding my teeth
against the broken ghosts
of my past
that i have forgotten
to lick my lips
with the taste of the future.
sometimes memories
seem more current
than the present,
tense and affected
i have predicted
the outcome
of this
by the patterns of the past
but whether these things
come to pass
is a matter of
if i let them or not. 02/03/2012 Author's Note: my thoughts are so broken lately that i feel the need to apologize for what is not my usual quality. just trying to get things out.
