Ninety Thousand Breaths

by Alison McKenzie

I could
And I have
And I do
Spend ninety thousand breaths
Immersed in the music
That is the universe,
My soul,
And yours.

And for every breath
From the sweetness
Of my Love’s divinity,
I die a little death -

I soar again
On winds
That deliver me.

Author's Note: I love music. I swear it is the energy that keeps my heart beating.
