Lucid

by Alison McKenzie

I have clues
Tucked under my ribs,
Woven into organs
Etched into strands
Of my DNA.

I have not been
Unraveled,
Unravished,
Unwoven,

And there is a Sun
Hidden behind
My earthen eyes

Whose occasional flares
Burn out the undesirables,
Leave those unwavering souls
Who search
Beyond me.

Not that any such galaxy
Exists solely to be explored;

But for those who seek it,
I have clues
Tucked under my eyelids,
That pierce the
Black ink void
Luminous.

Oh wow, Ali. This is so deep, so personal, so raw. I can relate to every word and from now on, each one will course it's way through my veins. So beautiful!
