Untitled by Lewis MitchellLock me up, tie me down, bury my words deep underground.
If something is not "lost" it will surely never be found.
Cut my throat, seal my lips, even burn my lands.
You seem so innocent now but your guilt is in your brands.
You can burn me to ashes, cut me to pieces and you can even throw my words away.
Try and try as you might but forever in the hearts of the free I will stay.
You stole the faces that created me and slowly made them great.
Then you tried to use them to smother me and that is what sealed your fate.
You used their power to to blind my people and turn them away from me.
But this is nay over yet!
I AM the Constitution and my people WILL be free! 01/18/2012 Posted on 01/19/2012 Copyright © 2025 Lewis Mitchell
