10 bucks says you're sleeping. by Angie JenkinsBzzzz...
Bzzz...
The beam of light from my cell phone
illuminates my ceiling but
not my heart because…
once again…
it’s not you.
Why would it be you?
You only told me you’d call
10 times before and
you’ll insist that you’ll call
10 times again before I can
gather the energy to throw out this
garbage bag of empty promises
I’ve collected from you
over the past year .
Nope…it’s not you.
And 10 bucks says you’re sleeping right now.
And 20 says I’ll still be waiting here if you decide to
wake up.
