speaking of Karma, Ali by Charlie Morgan
Karma has a trail o' pomes following it;
some deleted by a moment sliced like
the tomato that it is. like the proverbial
possum, i should've slept thru it all.
then i wouldn't take it so personaly;
such is, i am. scary is invented.
i'm still working out this life.
Glad Jesus is bigger, taller, realer.

| Posted by Rob Littler on 12/30/11 at 04:22 PM One thing that plagues me that I read in this poem is "I should've slept through it all." I am often wondering about the ignorance is bliss anyway, that the end is the same for someone who is at the brink of Everything as it is for someone who hasn't recognized the will to care. But your image is so well framed by the truth that a Possum is only faking it...only pretending...but not really sleeping. I love the Karmic undertones of that state of being. |
