MY Amy

by Steven Craig

Flowers
Flower beds
Stones and mulch are her artist clay
Stone beach
miles of wealth to seek and hold
Fish
Worms
Always feeding the depending mouths
Holly scented in the fall
Reminds her she is home
Bulbs in spring
She planted with care
Roses in the summer
Sweet scents to share
Hockey in the winter
Ice time to cheer
Sitting in the winters sun
thinking of spring to come
Sheltering in the summer shade
Looking at her splendid works with spade
Spring comes the chirping toads
Singing nightly under the long moon light
Singing contently in their home
Next to hers
Flocks of her birdies
Feeding each day
Nesting in the thorn trees
Singing round the pond rim
Dancing on the waterfalls
She has a singing in her heart
I hear it when I am close
Laughter on her lips
I see it when I approach
Love is everything she is
Blue alligators sing her praise
Even when she forgets the reason why
No elephant need remind her
She is
Always faithful
Always waiting
Always caring
Bearer on her finger the devils stone
His golden chain hold her elephant close
She looks to the door
At my approach
Never loosing that welcoming smile
A hug
A kiss
In my arms held
My Amy.
