Cinderblock goodbye

by Timothy Wilson

If I could take your hand and pull you into me
I would
If I could run my fingers through your beautiful locks
I would
If I could find a wholeness in us
I would
If you were my only hope
I would thank you for that
But you are a stranger
Further now than ever
And the worst part is I would have
Furthermore I should have
At last, I just want to fondly thank you
For being a regret worth having
