body parts

by Vikki Owens

im biting my tongue
as you're stepping on my toes
you're planting a seed
to see how
my garden grows,

an arm and a leg is all its worth
to quiet the cycles
of life, death, and birth.

Wow. The wording of this is piercing and deep. May your garden of life grow as it should, what it should, without pressure.
