planet for sale

by Desdemona Sinestra

it's just kissing
she sighed
she wrapped her lips around gifts, trivialized whispers
she was wicker wings
she was bags of bones

and the boy would laugh
what would i do with someone such as you?

the boy with the world on his back stood up and once more he laughed.
and the TV and the make-up and the music
and the Higgs Boson and the dragons
and the hornets and the strike-outs
and the biases and the rhinestone
and the static and the mothers
and the surgery and the rationalizations
and the explosives and the rapture
and the candy and the sixes and the whole entire lung
and the flight and the over-stimulation
and the kisses and the pretense and the hellos
and the waist-deep-sex and the math of it all
and the birthdays and the antennae
and the Archaeopteryx and the fingerprints
and the sins and the mothers and the insects
and the stains and the hand-me-down anger
and the fillings and the fevers and the strings of precious metals
filled his head with the girls, their toys
and everything else he always thought was nothing
only noise
